Actor Innocent to quit post of `Amma' president

Kochi: Actor Innocent will quit the president post of film association `AMMA' (Association of Malayali Media Artists). A final decision will be taken at the executive meet of AMMA to be held in Kochi. A new president will also be appointed at the executive meet.

Innocent has offered to resign from the post of AMMA as he is an MLA now from Chalakudy constituency. But AMMA was reluctant to accede to his request. As Innocent was firm on quitting, the body of the film association decided to meet to take a final decision.

Innocent said he had decided to vacate the post as he wanted to pay more attention to the people as a parliamentarian. When AMMA was on the verge of crisis, it was Innocent who was instrumental in lifting it up. Hence the members of AMMA were not ready to allow Innocent quit the president post. Innocent said he would continue with his acting.
